Yes, I saw that conversation and it really made me think. I would have fired the manager on the spot. But this CEO really proved his mettle by seeing through the emotion and making a lasting impact on that manager. This will have far greater impact on the world than he would have had by simply firing the guy. If he fired the guy, the manager would not have realized how his behavior was disruptive and he would have done it again. Very Powerful!

Coleen,

Great thoughts. What did you think of last nights show on Hooter's? The one manager who made the girls eat ths beans--- I would have fired him on the spot. But, the CEO spoke to him in a way that got through and he may have saved the manager. Very interesting.

Ron---I watched the show last night and was most impressed how O'Donnell managed to maintain both his composure and dignity. He vacuumed portajohns, made much easier by an employee with a top notch attitude; he listened to a disgruntled worker who might otherwise have been let go for insubordination; and he elevated an employee to a greater leadership position based on not only her workplace ethic, but her home-work ethic.
He was the right man to start the show! Look forward to future blogs on the subject---
